Cooking Channels on Youtube

Asian cuisine has been growing popular throughout the years. You probably even go eat take out or buy sushi every week or so. However, sometimes you don't want to just buy them, you want to make it yourself. Lucky for you there are many Youtube channels that teach you how to cook famous dishes. Just by watching the videos will be enough to make your mouth water. Here are some Asian channels you should check out.

Japanese:

Cooking With Dog

-Cooking with Dog has been on Youtube for about 10 years. It stars Francis the dog (host of the dog) and the chef. Francis (voiced over by a male) tells you the instructions and ingredients you will need for each dish while the Chef cooks it. Sadly, Francis died on November; however, the show keeps running. The chef now cooks with a picture of Francis by her side.

Korean:

Maangchi

-Maangchi has been on Youtube for about a decade now. She teaches you how to cook traditional and healthy Korean foods. Her videos are very cute and fun to watch. If you don't understand what she says, whether or not you understand English, she has captions in different languages.

Chinese:

Chinese Healthy Cook

-Chinese Healthy Cook has been on Youtube since 2011. She started cooking when she was little with her mother. It inspired her to become a cook and now she created channel so you can cook Chinese meals for yourself and your loved ones to enjoy, and as the name suggests, it's healthy :3.

General:

Seokyoung Longest

-Since 2011, Seokyoung Longest has been teaching us how to cook general Asian foods. From Korean to Chinese to Japanese- you name it, she'll teach you how to cook those specific foods. You'll have fun both learning how to cook with her and watching her videos.

I hope you guys enjoy their videos. They're really good :3

Kim Seok Jin's dad is a CEO....so..?

Hey Guys,

So you might've heard the buzz going on that BTS's Kim Seokjin's father is a CEO. The K-Pop community- most specifically ARMY (BTS's fandom name) have been going crazy since the word got out. Now, there are some people who are not really paying much mind to this information, but there are many other who are simply losing their minds over it. Some fans are really supportive and commenting how humble Jin stayed throughout his music career, however...there are other who are saying very rude things about this. Some of them are saying that Jin bought his way to becoming an idol while others are saying that he should stick with having less lines than the other members since he "doesn't deserve to even be in BTS".

Here's my thoughts on this:
First off: why should it even matter? Jin is still Jin no matter which family he's from. He worked hard to become an idol. If he did "buy his way in", he wouldn't have had to gone through his trainee days or much less work as hard as he does with the other members. Heck, he wouldn't even be in a group- he would've just gone solo with his music, but he didn't. He stuck with the members of BTS.
Second: Don't be disrespectful. Those of you who say you support BTS shouldn't say such nasty things about Jin. He's worked very hard and you guys are not showing your support for him or the group if you say that he just bought his way up and that he should stick with having less lines. I'm sorry to say this, but you're not a real fan of the group if you're making such rude comments about one of the members.

I know this isn't the first time someone or some people were making rude comments about a member..but this is gone too far. And even though I'm writing this about Jin, I'm asking you guys to stop making rude comments about a specific member- not only in BTS but in other groups as well. What you say doesn't only effect that one member, but the entire group as well. They love each other like a family and if one member is felling horrible, they all do as well. Anyways, I apologize if it seemed like I was ranting about this; it was something that has been bothering me for quite some time.

See you guys,
Nya!

Lookism (Manhwa Review)

Title: Lookism

Release Date: 2014
Status: Ongoing

Park Hyun Suk/ Daniel Park (name varies depending on where you read it) has been bullied his entire life to the point where he just wants to start life all over again. When he finally gets the chance to do so, he has to leave his hometown and his own mother behind. When he sees that life doesn't exactly change, after a while, a miracle happens to him (you're going to have to read it to find out :3 ).

I really like this manhwa because it's really realistic in the aspect of problems such as bullying and economy. It has many life lessons and moments where you can relate with the characters. One thing that I love about this manhwa in particular is the fact that you can feel comfort when reading it. It is also very cute and funny. The writer, Park Tae Jun based the characters off of real people such as his friend Park Hyung Seok (who is Park Hyun Suk/Daniel Park).

I give Lookism 5 pairs of paws out of five because of how cute and relatable it is. I definitely recommend you read it because it is definitely worth the time doing so. 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

(Check out one of the songs that they made for one of the chapters. I'll post the link on here. It is really good. :3)

Korean Festival- "Callejando por Seoul IV"

Last week I went to a Korean culture festival, and it was amazing to put it simply. I had a blast, the food was great, all of the performances were amazing and everyone was simply having the time of their lives while meeting up with people who also have an interest and love in the culture.

The room was really spacey, however it didn’t really feel that way since so many people attended the festival, the room seemed smaller than it actually was. There was almost no room to just sit down or even walk. There were even cosplayers who dressed up as their favorite K-pop idol. However, their makeup was slowly melting because of how hot the room was. Nonetheless, everything was a blast to summarize it.

There were also many performances, most of it (about 75%-80%) was on the talent show. First off was a Tae-Kwon-Do group that had many students and teachers showing their love for the martial arts. They were also encouraging everyone in the audience to try martial arts since it is not a sport, but a way of life. I was captivated by the talent that each of the teachers and students had when showing us this type of martial art.

Next was the talent show. Now, I’m only going to put one or two pictures since there were many people who participated in it (also because my phone was dying by trying to record so many talented people). The dances were spectacular and the singers were simply phenomenal.

As people were leaving, everyone got off of their chairs and danced to every song that came up. Everyone, though tired and sweaty, was giving it their all while dancing to the music (myself included). Needles to say that the teachers who organized this event did an excellent job.

So if you have the chance of going to a culture festival like this one, I highly recommend you do since it’s an amazing experience. The people who go there are really nice and you find out more about the world in a tiny little space. The food is also a plus. If you do go to a festival, I hope you have fun and meet some really great people there!
